Do you have a few spare afternoons between Monday 14 to Thursday 17 August? Why not help inspire a love for science in 9-14 year olds with fun activities at a summer holiday club?
We'll be making conductive playdough and using it with a Makey Makey board to create a homemade game controller, using bananas and other fruit/veg as a computer keyboard, demonstrating how much sugar is in different fizzy drinks and iron in different cereals with the physics behind it plus much more besides!
You don't need to bring anything or any prior experience, just your enthusiasm! You'll receive a full volunteer pack before the day, including top tips on outreach and activity crib sheets, plus training on the day. Travel expenses are provided and you'll also get to meet fellow physicists in your area who have a similar interest in inspiring young people to think more about physics! Plus for our younger members, it looks great on your UCAS statement or CV.
