The Women in Materials Group are delighted to announce for the 3rd year running: Career Pathways for Women in STEM. The event is kindly sponsored and hosted by the Institute of Physics London and South East Branch and will be held at their central office located near King’s Cross, London.

This event is a unique forum for inspiring female role models, who have used a science degree to underpin their careers, to share their employment experiences and challenges to date. Our speakers will be established professionals and eminent academics representing a diverse range of disciplines; from science policy and academia to entrepreneurship and engineering. We will also hear from recent graduates about the challenges faced make their early career choices.

Our speakers include:

  • Rachel Won, International Editor in Chief of Nature Photonics
  • Deborah Phelps, a Safety and Reliability engineer at Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace
  • And many more…


This is an exciting opportunity to network, ask questions and engage with your peers in a supportive environment. All undergraduate and postgraduate students are encouraged to attendregardless of gender or academic background.

The venue is fully wheelchair accessible. If there are any additional requirements needed then please let us know
