Professor Sir James Hough OBE FRS FRSE FInstP (Hon)
Associate Director, Institute for Gravitational Research,
University of Glasgow, UK
In this talk Professor Sir James Hough will review progress in the field of gravitational wave detection from the first days of the aluminium bar detectors to the present time where the laser interferometer detectors Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo have allowed gravitational waves to be detected and are opening up a new field of gravitational multi-messenger Astrophysics
The aim of this meeting is to bring together early-stage researchers working on all aspects of gravitational physics, including Astrophysics, cosmology, general relativity, quantum gravity, gravitational-wave data analysis and instrumentation, to exchange results and ideas
