The Festival of Physics

The Festival of Physics is a celebration of the wonders of the world around us, the power of curiosity, and the inventions that shape our future.

On the 25 – 27 October, step into a world where music, art and gaming meet incredible science in hands-on workshops and installations for all ages. Join us by day or night for talks and lectures, dance with atoms, and discover the unexpected.

Set out on an adventure that reveals the dark side of the moon and explores big data and colliding black holes.

Shows, talks and workshops for wee ones:

  • Circus physics
  • To the Moon!
  • The glimmering glowing reflecting refracting moving and magical illumination show
  • Small Stories tent
  • Make your own juggling balls
  • Ultraviolet moon tent
  • Airheads

And for everyone else:

  • Physics ceilidh
  • The Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas
  • Data science and the moon landings
  • Tour the ATLAS Experiment Underground; live from CERN!
  • Atom Brewery beer menu
  • Hivetone: an interactive music installation
  • The search for gravitational waves
  • eXitune: a video game full of physics

And (almost) infinitely more!
