God, Stephen Hawking and the Multiverse

Free IOP talk by David Hutchings and Revd. Professor David Wilkinson.

God, Stephen Hawking and the Multiverse uses Hawking’s work on the past, present, and future of our Universe (or maybe even Universes) to discuss what the famous cosmologist referred to as the ‘Big Questions’: Where did we come from? Why are we here? Is there a God?

This talk will describe some of Hawking's most inventive achievements in cosmology and analyse his forays into philosophy and theology.

Non-specialists are very welcome - there will be hardly an equation in sight!

David Hutchings is a Fellow of the IOP, and Professor David Wilkinson is Principal of St. John's College in the Department of Theology and Religion at Durham University.
