How AI and Big Data Reshapes the World - and Us

Public Lecture

Everyone has heard of artificial intelligence and big data, but few people know what it may mean for society - whether it's algorithms destroying our jobs or robots destroying us!  In this easy-to-understand, fast-paced and humorous talk, Kenneth Cukier of The Economist and best-selling author of "Big Data," demystifies the technology, shows where it's going and explains why there's more to cheer than to fear.

Kenneth Cukier is a Senior Editor at The Economist, and host of its weekly podcast on technology.  He is the coauthor of "Big Data," a NYT Bestseller translated in over 20 languages.  He is also an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School at Oxford and a trustee of Chatham House.  His TED Talk on data and society has over 1 million views.
