About the Event:

Having connected to the school via video call in our Space Age Sessions day in July 2019, Egglescliffe School are excited and honoured to hold an evening where Dr. Andy Aldrin and Jim Christensen of the Aldrin Institute will be visiting the school and speaking to an audience about their experiences of Space and their dreams and vision for the future. This is an astonishing opportunity to link up with two esteemed figures in the Space Industry who are coming across to the school from the United States to link up especially with Egglescliffe School.

The Institute of Physics North East branch are supporting this event and have a number of free tickets to offer to anyone who would like to attend.

We look forward to sharing this fantastic experience with you.

Egglescliffe School would like to extend a galaxy of gratitude to our Mission Control team who have helped make this mission succeed. From Angie Watson and her Class of ’78 friends to our own staff; from the U.S. Embassy in London to the Reece Foundation; from the Institute of Physics – NE branch to RTC North; from all our speakers at our space event days to the multitude of ground crew that provided prizes, print support and so much more…there are too many stars to count!!!

The Aldrin Family Foundation strives to cultivate the next generation of space leaders, entrepreneurs and explorers who will extend human habitation beyond the Earth to the Moon and Mars. Their STEAM-based educational tools, curriculum and programs span from a child’s first classroom experience through graduate school and professional programs. This vertical pathway unites explorers at all levels to learn from each other’s vision for space, ultimately creating the first generation of Martians. They aim to create the game changers of tomorrow by exploring space and to help make the world a better place.

ShareSpace Foundation believes in the power of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) to inspire and nurture the next generation of explorers – from astronauts to IT professionals to scientists to doctors. They provide innovative, interactive, STEAM-based educational tools – most notably the Giant Mars Map™ –but now also a Giant Moon Map to educators around the world with the sole purpose of igniting a passion for learning in today’s youth. These steps have the potential to unlock a world of opportunity.
