Meteors in space

Bournemouth Natural Science Society presents Meteors with speaker Steve Bosley

Steve Bosley is from the Hampshire Astronomy Group, which has several meteor detecting cameras and is linked to the French BOAM meteor system.

"Shooting stars represent the death throes of remnants from the ancient solar system, and so studying them offers a chance to add to our knowledge of our deep past. In this talk I plan to explain what meteors are and discuss ways amateurs can affordably observe them to provide scientifically valuable data, some of which we can analyse ourselves with freely available software."
