Nuclear Power: the Concept of the Atom (Branch talk)
Nuclear power, by Geoff Anderson
It has been two hundred years since the concept of the atom evolved. It took another hundred years to discover that the atom had a nucleus. The rate of atomic understanding became more rapid during the years just prior to WW2 and accelerated even faster during the war itself concluding in atomic explosions.
This talk explores the peaceful side of nuclear power which evolved afterwards and how controlled fission can lead to sustained and controllable energy.
