Shining light on the brain: Optics in medicine
Dr Gemma Bale, University College London
Gemma is a medical physicist who creates optical technology to monitor the brain, both its activity and health, in spaces where conventional brain monitors won’t fit: from tracking the brain’s development to searching for biomarkers of newborn brain injury in intensive care. This lecture will illuminate the science and engineering behind this technology – using live demos – and take an in-depth look into the future of brain monitoring.
Lectures usually held at 7pm in the Lindop Building, University of Hertfordshire, College Lane, Hatfield, AL10 9AB. To book a place or for further information on this season’s events please contact Dr. Diane Crann (email firstname.lastname@example.org, tel 07770 444614).
