The Square Kilometre Array - Big Telescopes and Big Data

The Square Kilometre Array is a mega-science project to build the world’s largest radio observatory comprising two ground-breaking arrays of radio antennas in desert locations in South Africa and Australia but with a headquarters in the UK. Rosie will describe this billion-dollar project, the transformational science it hopes to enable and the challenges of handling the unprecedented amounts of data it will generate for researchers.

Dr Rosie Bolton, SKA Regional Centre Project Scientist, has been working on the project for more than a decade.
